Founder Background

Akhona Tota has more than 15 years’ experience for mainly global multinational manufacturing organizations, having been in leadership positions for the past 8 years.

Our Board Staff In her role as HR Manager at Aspen Pharmacare, East London she managed the full scope of site human resources, supporting leadership meet objectives whilst undergoing transformation. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, leadership and Executive coaching studies from Nelson Mandela University and UCT, pursuing studies in Industrial psychology.

She is an Enneagram Practitioner trained by Integrative Enneagram Solutions SA. She is affiliated to Arbinger Institute SA, as a discussion leader for the Outward Mindset online training program.

About Me


I believe in personal mastery as an accelerator for growth both personally & professionally. I help others embrace authenticity, vulnerability, tenacity, consciousness and living a purposeful and a goal driven life. As middle child, I faced many challenges with confidence, self-acceptance and purpose, a rebel in my teen years my choices reflected my inner turmoil.

As far as I can remember, others saw better in me than I did, and through the support from high school teachers I carved a career in Human Resources. Stepping into leadership roles my inner being limited me in many ways, with the academic & soft leadership training not quite filling the gap. During these years a lot was brought to awareness through various tools but application another issue. A drastic decision to leave a high paying corporate job led me to myself & my purpose. Reflecting on learnings I never applied, I found these critical stepping stones in personal growth, leadership effectiveness & collaboration, and here I am….

My Approach

I use GROW as the model to my coaching. I believe we all have molehills, hills and mountains to summit, and often we get stuck in the valley of unconscious comfort zones or destructive vacuums.

I have a genuine interest in people and helping them grow. Working with you I will be your cheerleader, challenger and confidante, I will help you get Deliberate about your goals, be Determined in seeing them through and Delight reflecting on your success, finding meaning and continue to grow.


I use the Enneagram as a framework to my coaching practice. This one of the tools that started my self-awareness journey a couple of years ago. This coaching tool impacts one’s overall being, as how we show up at home, work and leadership is impacted by who we are. This works for individuals & teams.

I work with the Arbinger Institute’s Outward Mind-set tools, for individuals, teams and leaders. In my experience I found Arbinger’s material and coaching tools a gem for organizational challenges, strategic leadership norms and a common language, improving performance and productivity. The two mind-sets at play within us impact our organizations. The Outward mind-set encourages critical conversations, developing accountable people, collaboration and eradicating SILO’s that chirp away at a healthy culture and that contribute to unaccounted costs to the organization.
